Tournament Merger!
For those of you who have been playing in Joe's live game for the last couple years and are looking for the monthly action to continue, I have good news.....
We will be moving our game to the Galveston VFW, 1014 24th St. Galveston, TX 77550. There is already a No Limit Holdem tournament that is playing on Mondays and we will be joining with them. The game will be July 3rd with a 6:30 start time.
The buyin is the same at $50 (20,000 chips), however, the format is slightly different in that there are rebuys available until the first break (1hr) and at the break there is an optional add on for $50 (40,000 chips).
As a matter of strategy, I would recommend planning on purchasing the add on as you are at a big disadvantage, chip wise, if you choose not to. If $100 causes budgetary concerns, I would suggest playing every other month with the $100 budget rather than every month at $50. The prize pool typically pays the top 5.
I really hope we can keep this group together and playing monthly as I really enjoy seeing you all. I think the exposure to new people and playing styles is good for us all as well.
There is a cash bar and food available for purchase at the VFW.
June 20th Tournament
Joe and I will be in fabulous Las Vegas for the WSOP next week. Therefore Jonathan Ayala will be your man for the Tuesday the 20th tournament. Please send your buyin in a timely manner to Jonathan as he will be running the tournament including money and payouts.

Celebration of Life for Glenn Orman
This is a message from David Spence. He was a close friend of Glenn and wanted to pass on the word to everyone he could about the Saturday, June 17th (1pm-5pm) gathering at the Galveston VFW.:
"Glenn Orman was a good friend of mine I met in 1997 when I moved to the island. We worked together in the service industry while I was going to college here and played poker for 20+ years together in the Houston and Galveston area. Glenn helped out at the weekly VFW poker games by dealing cards for the last several years and developed some great relationships. He was truly one of the nicest guys I ever met, he was very giving and I saw him firsthand help people who were in need on countless occasions.
As you may know he unexpectedly passed away due to a heart condition recently at only 50 years of age. Unfortunately, Glenn didn’t have any funeral services but his uncle, Pat Townes, is having a celebration of his life at the Galveston VFW this Saturday from 1-5pm. He’s going to have some finger foods (appetizer-style) there and there will be an open cash bar.
Please email me if you have any questions."
